Bowtie For the New Year

Today I feel pretty accomplished as I made a homemade baked buffalo chicken mac & cheese with bowtie pasta. Was easy and taste darn good if I do say so myself! Mangia!

When TGIF Was a Vibe

Once upon a time in 1994,
I used to love Friday nights.
I would turn on ABC, channel 7
And the music would start

🎵 "It's Friday night, and the mood is right. Gonna have some fun, show you how it's done, TGIF." 🎵

Then, for the next two hours I would proceed to watch a combination of the following awesome shows:
Full House
Family Matters
Boy Meets World
Step By Step
Hangin' With Mr. Cooper

Here's to the golden era of Friday nights

To that I say T G I F!

An Ode to Christmas

Christmas is over just like that.
After all my moms food we needed a nap.
We got to talk to Matt on Zoom.
The neighbors lot off fireworks with a boom.
Mom is a great shopper, always knows what we need.
She got us all flannels, a great gift indeed.
Mom and dad also got us a printer, a quite thoughtful gift.
And dad got some stuff from Goodwill, he did thrift.
Andy and Tucker the mall did they shop.
They got me a light up cross and Jeopardy calendar for my desk top.
We ended the night watching Home Alone.
I hope you liked my little Christmas poem.

Family Is Everything

From the years of Christmas Eve, as kids, at Grandma Agnes' to our last 12 Christmas' here in AZ, I just love the gathering together of family.

Going from two dozen people to about half a dozen, its less busy, less food production, less presents to buy, but just as much love from the family. As I get older I am more and more appreciating the small things.

Every year leading up to Christmas mom and I have a Christmad movie marathon. We pick together and watch a movie or two a week. This year I asked mom to pick the movie and surprise me. Surprise me she did. We started with The Blindside and Paul Blart Mall Cop and have followed a route that, to the week before Christmas eve, took us to Candy Cane Lane and A Christmas Carol The Musical.

Now as I sit here watching A Very Brady Christmas, I am thankful that we have a lot to be blessed about. We have mom, and yes she still has health issues, but we still have mom. The family as stopped smoking. And we may even see Matt, on Zoom, this year.

All in all we have a lot.
This was my $2 and 25 cents.

Good Greif

Good Greif. A Charlie Brown Christmas special used to be a yearly tradition for me growing up. Then, several years ago, Apple bought it and moved it from TV to their Apple TV+. Thankfully, after much uproar, they gave us a few days to see it free without an Apple TV+ subscription.

Funny to me how a Christmas classic about the overwhelming materialism & commercialization of Christmas had to be fought against just so people who grew up with this classic in their lives could watch it.

Inflation Hits Home (Alone)

Keep the change ya filthy animal.

Oh wait, there is no more change.

Even Kevin McCallister feels the pinch.
